The Niger Delta issue seems so complex yet to the ORDINARY niger deltan, its so simple. CREATE JOBS, PROVIDE BASIC INFRASTRUCTURES & INVOLVE THE NIGER DELTA MASSES ON DECISIONS CONCERNING THE REGION. How difficult can that be?

YOUTHS INVOLVEMENT IN CANNABIS CULTIVATION IN NIGERIA; HELP!.

I am so inspired to learn that thousands of youths out there put their minds together to better our society. This is very hope-lifting considering the increased rate of crime and vices around the world and the alarming rate of youth involvements in those crimes. An example is the community where I am from; 80% of the major drug barons in Nigeria are indigenes of this region and they offer juicy deals luring youths to work for then on their drug farms.
At first, I felt it was a way of providing jobs to the massively unemployed youths, but realized later that the long-run demerits were worse than the short-term merits as the community sees their act as a ‘good gesture’ hence grants them protection from Authorities involved.
Furthermore, it has rapidly increased the rate at which youths drop out from school (only to involve themselves in cannabis cultivation or trafficking) and also increased cannabis usage by youths.
My basic concerns is to tackle factors/situations that causes them to engage themselves in these vices, empower those prone to those factors/situations with knowledge, and provide alternative jobs to those that have been empowered by knowledge. I will most readily assist and/or synergy with any individual/organization actively involved in reaching out to the grassroots where these vices grow stronger by the minute.
